Bring on Play and Lincoln Park

Bring on Play and Lincoln Park

Lincoln ParkCity Parks are a wonderful way for city residents to enjoy the outdoors, meet their neighbors, or serve their community. Bring On Play is a committee made up of volunteers and organizations from the City and the County, whose purpose is to secure funds to renovate the playground equipment at Lincoln Park. The overall goal is to renovate parks throughout the City with new playground equipment.

Bring On Play is currently raising money to renovate the playground equipment at Lincoln Park.  The BOP committee has been busy planning fundraising events and increasing our volunteer base. The goal is to raise $200,000 by March of 2009 and plan our build day for early Summer 2009.  Currently, Lincoln Park’s playground equipment accommodates 25 children. Once renovations are complete, the park equipment will accommodate 100 children.

So how can you help?  There are multiple ways to help BOP raise their funds.  Purchase an Engraved brick or during the month of February, Beck’s Ice Cream Parlor, located at 830 Roosevelt Ave., will be featuring Lincoln Park Delight Ice Cream! 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of Lincoln Park Delight Ice Cream will go to the renovation of Lincoln Park. Beck’s and Bring on Play (BOP) are partnering to raise funds for the renovations at Lincoln Park. For more information about Beck’s call 848-8400.

Bring on Play is also seeking volunteers to assist with Build Day which is schedule for May 9th at 8 a.m. and May 16th at 8 a.m. at Lincoln Park. In case of rain Build Day will be held on March 23. For more information or to volunteer please call Tom Landis at 849-2276, send an e-mail to [email protected] or call the BOP hotline at 849-2287
